Drum
Boby Germination Drums are used at Tivetshall for the production
of green malt for onward processing in to crystal malt and caramalt
in the Roast Plant.
In addition, Boby Drums are also employed at Tweed Valley Maltings
for small production runs and for the production of green malt
for the grain whisky market. Although this method of malting was
used extensively in the 20th Century, it is still a very gentle
way of producing a quality product.
