100-mile cycle for Team Humble Maltsters in memory of Peter Simpson

In 2017, we tragically lost good friend, colleague, son, brother, father, and humble maltster, Peter Simpson. He was taken far too soon after a battle with pancreatic cancer, at the age of just 43.

In memory of Peter, we will take part in RideLondon’s mammoth 100-mile closed road cycle circuit in London to raise money for the charity Pancreatic Cancer UK. As he was a keen cyclist and loved London, we felt that this was a fitting challenge and the perfect tribute.

In taking on this challenge, that finishes in front of Buckingham Palace, we hope to raise some vital cash that will fund world-leading research at the cutting-edge of science.

Over the last decade, less than 1% of UK cancer research spending has been directed towards pancreatic cancer. It needs bold investment to transform the future and to deliver change that can alter the outcome for those diagnosed with this devastating disease.

So, on the 4th of August 2019 a team from Simpsons Malt and MSP, alongside Roger Ryman of St Austell Brewery, will join around 25000 cyclists and set out to cycle in memory of Peter.
