This month, our Spanish and Portuguese Distributor, Agronet, showcased our malt range at the Barcelona Beer Festival. The annual festival celebrated its sixth year of growth with over 32,000 visitors through the doors over 3 days! All down to the continued explosion of the Spanish craft beer market.
The technical conference – which also took place over the three days – was opened by Oriol Anson, Director General of Rural Development, Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fishers and Food – which showed recognition of craft beers as a craft and industry
The festival also included the second Barcelona Beer Challenge Awards Ceremony. Simpsons Malt customer, Founders Brewing Co. US won the Best Brewery award and the best beer novice award went to a newer Simpsons Malt customer, Navarra, Brew & Roll. Tremendous!
It was great to have met so many brewers over the three days and introduce them to the taste and flavour that is Simpsons Malt. It was also great to be next to our friends from Murphy & Son too.
We’re looking forward to raising a few more glasses next year and we’ll certainly prepare for yet another record number of visitors to the stand!
