On March 16th – 18th, the annual Barcelona Beer Festival returns to La Farga. This is the seventh year the festival has taken place, last year welcoming 32,000 attendees.
Our Spainish and Portuguese distributor, Agronet, will once again be representing Simpsons Malt, showcasing our range of malts and allowing visitors to chew and taste the malt (with the help of head of UK sales Jamie and vice chairman Richard, who will also be making an appearance!)
The whos who of the brewing industry will be attending the festival and as the popularity of Spanish craft beer continues to grow, this is an ever expanding market.
So, what does the 3-day festival have in store?
Meet the Brewer
Attendees will get the chance to “Meet the Brewer” at a special bar area where different brewers will be serving their beers and telling you more about them throughout the festival.
The Barcelona Beer Festival will release a schedule in the next few weeks, detailing who each of the brewers are and when you can meet them.
BBF Pro
BBF Pro is the business area of the Barcelona Beer Festival and an official space where you can meet professionals from within the sector and talk shop.
Live Cooking
There will be a live cooking space where you can discover various gastronomic delights where the beer takes on a protagonist role in the cuisine offer.
Barcelona Beer Challenge
The Barcelona Beer Challenge is a competition of international scope that has contributed to, along with other initiatives, bringing a new level of recognition and visibility to quality beer in Spain. The last time this took place it was attended by 200 breweries from across 25 countries, with over 750 beer submitted to the competition. Not to be missed in 2018!
Chewing the malt with Simpsons Malt
For us, this will be the highlight…for obvious reasons. Come and visit us at the Agronet stand where you can ask us anything to do with malt. We’ll have a selection of our great malts to try so you can experience the taste and flavour we are so well known for.
