Malcolm Brown

It is with great sadness to announce that our dear friend and colleague, Shared Services Director, Malcolm Brown, has passed away following a battle with illness.

Malcolm was a loving husband to Liz, father to Matt, Nikki, Stuart and Joey, and grandfather to Liesl and Daisy. All at Simpsons Malt Limited send our deepest condolences to Malcolm’s family in these most difficult times.

Malcolm joined Simpsons Malt Limited in 2018 as Business Information Analyst, before joining the Executive Team in 2020, where he became Shared Services Director. In this role, he oversaw the Sustainability, IT, HR and Health & Safety departments.

He was pivotal in driving positive change in each of these departments and was key in developing the company’s overall sustainability strategy, guiding the business on its way to becoming a Certified B Corporation in November 2021 and being a main point of contact on sustainability with many of the company’s major distilling customers.

Richard Simpson, Chair of Simpsons Malt Limited, said: “Malcolm was a warm, kind and generous friend and colleague who was deeply admired and well-respected by all those who were fortunate enough to work alongside him.

“He will be dearly missed by us all at Simpsons Malt Limited, but will also be remembered fondly through the significant contributions he made in continuously driving our fifth-generation, family business forward.”
