Hours
Averaging 42 hours per week working on a 4 on 4 off pattern (2 x dayshift sets followed by 2 x nightshift sets). Shifts are 12 hours and dayshifts start at 6.00am and nightshifts start at 6.00pm.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Operator to join the Roast House team at our Tivetshall St Margaret Maltings.
The main purpose of this role is to support and co-ordinate activities in the Roast House and to support the department Senior Operators, Supervisors and Production Manager in leading the Roast House team to deliver the production of high-quality roasted malt products safely and efficiently.
Key Tasks:
- Carry out the production plan under direction of Supervisors.
- Ensure that plant and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
- Undertake quality checks.
- Engage fully in relevant Health, Safety and Environmental training to assist the Company to meet its legal obligations.
- Ensure general hygiene and housekeeping of the site is maintained to a high standard.
- Lorry loading and shunting of internal lorries and banksmen duties.
- Grain transfer (steeping/casting/conveyance/roasting/analysis bins).
- Cleaning duties (adherence to cleaning schedule for grain handling equipment and general building).
- Completing documentation and reporting.
Essential experience / behaviours:
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships.
- IT literate with experience of MS Office.
- Ability to lead, coach and develop others.
- Promotion of continuous improvement culture within the team.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Be able to work co-operatively with others and without supervision.
- Have a flexible approach to working hours.
- Possess strong problem solving skills.
