Simpsons Malt announces partnership with Plumm Health

Simpsons Malt Ltd is delighted to announce that it has entered into a partnership with Plumm Health, a global platform for accessible online mental wellbeing services.

Plumm aims to cater to all mental wellbeing and personal growth needs and offers a comprehensive range of services, including one-to-one video and text chat therapy sessions with accredited therapists, therapist-led digital courses, guided meditations and live monthly workshops.

All 300-plus employees at the company, which recently became a Certified B Corporation, now have access to Plumm and several onboarding sessions have taken place over the last month to showcase how employees can best utilise the services available to them.

Plumm can be accessed on demand and the reason for use doesn’t need to be work-related. Additionally, an employee’s use of Plumm is 100% confidential, with the company only receiving anonymised data on how well the platform is being used.

The partnership underlines the fifth-generation, family company’s commitment to the health and wellbeing of its employees, which is a key part of the B Corp identity and assessment framework.

David McIntosh, Simpsons Malt HSE Manager, said: “Awareness about mental healthcare has been growing globally in recent years and has led to a number of initiatives within the company, including mental health awareness training for managers, mental health first aider training and a variety of mental health related workshops on topics such as stress, sleep and anxiety.

“However, we’re always on the lookout for how we can promote and improve mental health among employees and that’s when we became aware of Plumm’s comprehensive services in this field.

“After a small-scale pilot scheme, the feedback from which was overwhelmingly positive, we were delighted to do a company-wide roll out of Plumm and we strongly believe the platform will be hugely beneficial to all employees.”
