Heavily Peated Malt

Crafted for distillers who want bold, unmistakable smoke, Heavily Peated Malt (50-70ppm) brings a deeply phenolic character ideal for Islay-style single malts and smoky blends.  

Rich aromas of tar and woodsmoke dominate the nose and carry through to the finish, layered atop a robust malt core. This is a malt that doesn’t shy away from its identity, lending bold flavour while retaining excellent conversion and yield.  

Produced at the peating plant at our Tweed Valley Maltings, each batch is precisely targeted for phenol levels and consistency. It’s a favourite for any whisky that demands assertive smoke and a powerful finish.
