7.30am - 4.30pm Monday-Friday, with flexibility between the hours of 6am-6pm.
Barley Stores Engineering Lead:
- Lead a small Engineering team that is responsible for various engineering related activities at multiple sites, as required to ensure that plant downtime is kept to a minimum and equipment health is maintained at acceptable levels.
- Co-ordinate and organise planned maintenance work in accordance with the schedule as outlined by the CMMS system.
- Take ownership of plant breakdowns whilst ensuring all work is carried out in a safe manner, in accordance with all relevant procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve plant equipment and process with considerations to reliability, maintainability, asset uptime, health, safety, environment and cost.
- Collaborate and communicate with other areas of the business to deliver the highest levels of service to the operational plant.
- Support barley stores 24 hours a day through harvest period using an on-call system.
Key tasks:
- Ensure breakdowns are prioritised and repaired correctly to minimise disruption to plant and operations.
- Ensure your team works to high standards and prioritises work in line with site leads.
- In conjunction with site leads, plan and schedule engineering activities at multiple sites.
- Ensure all site equipment is maintained to a high standard.
- Be accountable for your Engineering team performance including the reporting of KPIs as required by the business.
- Support and develop your team acting as a coach by leading by example.
- Take the lead during personal performance review meetings.
- Participate and engage with site Safety Action Teams and 5S.
- Participate and engage with continuous improvement initiatives.
- Seek to further knowledge and skills and be able to investigate and determine the root cause of system/asset failures.
- Complete all necessary H&S training required to complete work safely within all SML sites.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards within all work areas.
- Work in accordance with accepted engineering practices/industry standards and maintain plant to a standard that does not detract from the reliability of the process/system.
- Assist with the accuracy of the engineer stock holding by issuing goods to work orders, verifying asset spares lists, carrying out regular counts and returning stock to correct locations.
- Assist with the management and planning of engineering tasks and specify material and spare components required for the completion of work.
- Maintain asset history by correctly identifying asset on which work is being completed and following requirements the RCM basic work systems.
- Assist with the training and supervision of new members of the engineering team and the development of the production team’s maintenance skills.
- Complete and record results of routine inspection of safety and work equipment used during completion of maintenance activities.
- Assist with the development and implementation of planned and production maintenance procedures.
