Finest Pale Ale Golden Promise®™

Finest Pale Ale Golden Promise® is a heritage malt known for its sweet, clean and slightly nutty malt character.

It delivers a well-rounded, balanced body with a touch of honeyed sweetness and a light golden hue (typically 4-6 °EBC). This malt – produced from heritage barley variety Golden Promise, which dates to the 1960s – is highly versatile, excelling in Pale Ales, IPAs, Bitters and Scotch Ales, where a smooth yet distinctive malt backbone is desired.

Compared to Best Pale Ale Malt, Finest Pale Ale Golden Promise® is slightly softer and sweeter, with a rounder mouthfeel and less pronounced biscuit notes and, against Maris Otter, it is cleaner, more delicate and offers a more refined sweetness.

Finest Pale Ale Golden Promise® also provides greater depth and malt complexity than Extra Pale Ale Malt, which is crisper and lighter in colour. Overall, this makes it a top choice for brewers seeking a high-quality, flavourful base malt with heritage.

Furthermore, as we own the Golden Promise variety, supply seed through our agricultural merchanting division McCreath Simpson & Prentice (MSP) and purchase the barley direct from trusted growers each year, we can offer full traceability and sustainability data on the finished malt.
