Heritage Crystal
Heritage Crystal is a rich, deeply crystalised malt made exclusively from heritage barley variety Maris Otter, delivering classic toffee, burnt sugar and dried fruit notes, alongside a warm copper-red hue (167-190 °EBC).
Thanks to the distinctive depth and complexity of Maris Otter, this malt brings a fuller, rounder sweetness with a smooth, lingering finish, making it perfect for Bitters, Amber Ales, Red Ales and malt-forward IPAs.
While it offers the same sweetness and body, the use of Maris Otter results in a more rounded, traditional malt character. Typically used at 5-15% in the grist, Heritage Crystal adds depth, colour and a signature malt complexity, making it ideal for brewers seeking a classic, full-flavored crystal malt with a nod to heritage.
