Premium English Caramalt
Premium English Caramalt is a rich, high-quality caramel malt that provides a deeper, more pronounced sweetness than standard Caramalt, with a golden-amber hue (54-66 °EBC).
It delivers smooth toffee, light caramel and honeyed notes, adding body and malt complexity while maintaining a clean, slightly dry finish. This makes it perfect for Pale Ales, Bitters and West Coast IPAs, where a balanced malt sweetness enhances drinkability.
Compared to our Caramalt, Premium English Caramalt is darker, fuller and provides a richer caramel flavour, yet remains less intense than our crystal malt range, which provide deeper caramelisation and raisin-like notes.
Typically used at 5-15% in grists, it enhances mouthfeel, malt depth and residual sweetness, making it an excellent choice for brewers wanting a silky caramel malt backbone without overpowering the final beer.
