Chocolate Malt

Chocolate Malt is a roasted malt that imparts rich cocoa, dark coffee and roasted nut flavours along with a stunning dark brown hue (1067-1300 °EBC).  

It contributes bold roastiness and a smooth bitterness, making it perfect for Porters, Stouts, Black Ales and other dark beers where a strong roasted malt character is desired. 

Chocolate Malt offers a more intense roast flavour with deeper cocoa and coffee notes than Pale Chocolate, which contributes to a darker, fuller bitterness. 

Typically used at up to 10% in the grist, Chocolate Malt brings dark, roasty complexity to a wide range of beers, enhancing colour and depth while balancing sweetness with a clean, roasted bitterness. It's a good choice for brewers looking for a rich, dark malt presence without overwhelming the beer.
