Pale Chocolate
Pale Chocolate Malt is a roasted malt that delivers smooth cocoa, mild coffee and toasted nut flavours, with a deep brown hue (535-669 °EBC).
It provides a gentle roast character without the acrid bitterness of darker roasted malts, meaning it can be a malt of choice for Porters, Stouts, Brown Ales and Milds, where chocolate depth with a rounded finish is desired.
Pale Chocolate is less sharp and bitter than standard Chocolate Malt. It contributes colour and complexity without being overpowering, making it perfect for up to 10% in the grist.
Brewers looking for subtle roastiness, refined chocolate character and a smooth, dry finish will find Pale Chocolate an excellent choice for crafting balanced, malt-forward dark beers.
