What a year 2018 has been! We’ve been to loads of events where we caught up with old friends, met new ones, talked malts, brewing and distilling, and of course sampled a selection of awesome beer!
Let’s take a look at where we’ve been in 2018!
March
We started off the year with the three-day Barcelona Beer Festival in La Farga, attending with our Spanish and Portuguese distributor and good pals Agronet.
Read the chat we had with their Director Jordi Sala.
We checked out the special bar area and sampled some amazing quality beers served by the brewers themselves, and we got the inside scoop on brewing processes from some of the best in the business.
We also chewed the malt with fellow beer heads – we love introducing new people to the taste and flavour of our finest malts!
April/May
At the end of April, we headed over to Nashville for the Craft Brewers Conference with our fab US and North America distributors BSG.
We heard from brewers, curators and CEOs from all across the US and hung out with 700 fellow vendors.
June
On June 9th we were in Huddersfield for Magic Rock Brewing’s annual Sesh Fest.
30 awesome brewers including Northern Monk, Wylam and Beavertown all showed up to pour their best brews.
August
We were back on a plane to the US in August, this time landing in San Diego for Brewing Summit 2018. There were some pretty great keynote speakers, including Tomme Arthur of Port Brewing Company and Bart Warson from Brewers Association.
Over 90 exhibitors were there too, including us. We chatted with some awesome new pals about malts and brewing.
September
We hung out with our pals at Beavertown in September, at the Beavertown Extravaganza 2018. In addition to some Beavertown classics including Gamma Ray and Neck Oil, other big names in the brewing industry were there to pour some cold ones!
The lovely folk at Good Beer Hunting were also there to talk through some of the latest developments in the industry – we love a good beer chat.
October
After Beavertown, we headed down to Newcastle for Wylam Brewery’s Craft Beer Calling.
In addition to some insanely tasty beer and food, there was a gin palace, a wine cellar and a craft cider cellar. There was also live music from some great local bands…beer, friends and good music, what more could you ask for?
November
We were a bit thirsty when we got to Nuremberg, Germany. Luckily, we were headed to BrauBeviale where loads of drinks industry professionals from all over the world congregate once a year, so we were well taken care of.
It was a really lively event, and it was so great to spend time with so many enthusiastic beer lovers!
2018 has been a good one for us – we’ve honestly had the best time seeing more of our awesome distributors and customers and meeting many more beerficionados.
We can’t wait for 2019 and all that it will bring. Is there an event that you think we should attend? Let us know and have a chat about it on Twitter!
