Simpsons Malt supports Ninkasi at European exhibitions

We’ve recently returned from supporting one of our fantastic European distributors, Ninkasi, at a pair of exhibition events in Continental Europe.

On Wednesday, March 27 and Thursday, March 28, Simpsons Malt Vice Chairman Richard Simpson and Martin Inglis, our new Content Marketing Specialist, attended the first of the two events, Craft Beer Italy, at MiCo Milano Congressi in Milan.

Part of the ever-growing Beviale Family, the two-day event debuted in 2017 and helps to further raise awareness of the vibrant craft beer scene in Italy, with the number of micro-breweries in the country having increased five-fold over the past ten years.

We joined Ninkasi’s Managing Director & Buyer Alba Bertoni on their stand over both days, meeting some of the company’s customers, chewing the malt and having industry chat before making the seven-hour car journey north through the glorious Swiss Alps for Salon du Brasseur in Nancy, eastern France, on Friday, March 29.

Similar to Craft Beer Italy, Salon du Brasseur is a technical exhibition for beer professionals and amateur brewers alike, with more than 100 exhibitors from across Europe covering all aspects of the brewing industry, from brewery installations and hops to branding options and media outlets.

For the event in France, the format of which was also a two-day expo, we joined the Ninkasi Team Sales Manager Maurizio Cancelli on the opening day to, again, meet customers, as well as chatting to other visitors on the stand and sharing our range of malt.

Richard said: “It was great to visit Craft Beer Italy and Salon du Brasseur for the first time and meet up with Alba, Maurizio and the rest of the guys at Ninkasi at each of the events.

“It is clear that the popularity of the craft beer industry continues to grow, evidenced by a reported surge in the number of exhibitors at Salon du Brasseur this year compared to previous years, and we look forward to hopefully attending the events again in 2020.”
