Simpson McCreath Trust Get Behind Local ‘Field to Fork’ Project

“Receiving this grant from the Simpson McCreath Trust is a huge help and will allow us to develop and improve the unique experience we offer.” – Sally Fleming, ‘Field to Fork’ Project Leader

Our charity the Simpson McCreath Trust, has awarded local school project – ‘Field to Fork’ – with a £2000 grant to develop food and farming education programme.

Running around 100 visit days a year, the ‘Field to Fork’ project aims to provide an exciting outdoor learning experience for children, which connects them to the countryside. Each session teaches the importance of farming, where their food comes from and the environment in which it is produced.

The welcomed grant will be used to further develop the important project, which in turn will encourage more schools to take part.

Speaking about the recent grant made by the Trust Richard Simpson, Simpsons Malt Vice Chairman, said: “As an active member of the agricultural industry through our merchanting business, McCreath Simpson & Prentice, we are keen to help projects such as ‘Field to Fork’ in educating young people in the importance of farming and the natural environment.”
