Simpsons Malt pedal support for Reivers Road Race

Simpsons Malt signs up as headline sponsor for the upcoming Reivers Road Race, organised by Berwick Wheelers, on 25th March 2018.

Now in its 5th consecutive year the annual road races based at Etal Village Hall in Northumberland consists of two and three laps of a 19.70 mile circuit.  Open to 60 riders, each race has been described as challenging, competitive and exciting.

Active participants in the local community, and keen sports fans, Simpsons Malt are proud to be able to show support for this event that attracts hundreds of participants and spectators from the nearby area.

Speaking about the sponsorship, Simpsons Malt vice chairman Richard Simpson said: “We are delighted to be able to support this fantastic cycling event.  Many members of the Simpsons Malt family have taken part in previous years and we were more than happy to get behind the local event.”

The ‘king of the mountain’ challenge taking place during the Category 2/3/4 race will be named after Simpsons Malt, with the winner receiving an exclusive bottle of Simpsons Malt whisky.

Event organiser Dominic Blythe added: “It’s a pleasure to be involved with Simpsons Malt once again, who are a welcome supporter of our road races. We are cycle club run by volunteers and widening participation of our activities into the racing community is an important addition to our calendar. Attracting racing teams from across the country, race day itself is always exciting, bringing a buzz and influx of visitors to our beautiful area.”

Starting at Etal Village Hall and culminating at Ford Bank, and utilising some of the 2015 Tour of Britain route, it is an exhilarating day of sportsmanship for the rural village.
