Malt of the Month: Best Pale Ale Malt

Brewers of all abilities recognise the importance of choosing the right malt for your beer – it’s key to a successful brew.

That’s why we showcase a new malt each month, giving you the information you need so you can brew an awesome beer!

In July, our Malt of the Month is the aptly titled Best Pale Ale Malt. As the name suggests, it works well in pale ales, but this versatile base malt can be used as the principal ingredient in almost all keg, bottle or cask ales.

Used by notable brewers, this is a top quality, well-modified malt produced from two-row barley. This premium malt has great extract and enzymic activity.

Taste & flavour

Best Pale Ale Malt helps to bring cohesion to highly hopped beers, mellowing out bitter flavours. It also has the benefit of adding full-bodied, rich and malty notes to many beers, particularly in Belgian-style beer and Traditional Bitter.
